Nancy Wilson was born 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Olden Wilson, an ironworker, as well as Lillian Ryan (a former housemaid). Nancy Wilson was only child of six. Under the direction of Cannonball Adderley Wilson's leadership, Wilson started focusing on R&B however she soon switched to jazz and torch music. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley collaborated in 1962, which allowed her to climb the charts. By 1963 she scored the biggest success through Tell Me the Truth. This brought her a gig in New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America that year, and she became a star.
